Peanut Butter Ball Mixture
- 1 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ¾ cup powdered sugar
Chocolate Coating
- 8 ounces melting chocolate
- Mix peanut butter ball ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the peanut butter, softened unsalted butter, and powdered sugar. Stir or beat together until fully combined and the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
- Form balls: Using a 1 ½ inch portion size scoop, portion out the mixture and roll it into balls by hand. Place the balls onto parchment paper and chill in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes until firm.
- Melt chocolate: Place the melting chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second increments. Stir well after each heating to avoid burning and to ensure the chocolate becomes smooth and creamy.
- Dip peanut butter balls in chocolate: Remove the peanut butter balls from the refrigerator. Using a fork, dip each ball into the melted chocolate to fully coat it. Place the coated balls back onto parchment paper.
- Set the chocolate: Allow the chocolate-coated peanut butter balls to set at room temperature or in the refrigerator until the chocolate hardens before serving.
Notes
- For best results, use high-quality peanut butter and melting chocolate.
- If you prefer, crunchy peanut butter can be used instead of creamy for added texture.
- Store finished peanut butter balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- Optionally, drizzle with white chocolate or sprinkle with sea salt for extra flavor variations.
