Cheese Sauce
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Sandwich
- 2 cups beef stock or broth
- 1 pound deli roast beef, thinly sliced
- 4 onion Kaiser rolls
- ¼ cup Arby’s sauce
- Make the cheese sauce: In a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat, combine the heavy cream and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir constantly until the cheese melts completely and the sauce is smooth. Cover the skillet and set the sauce aside to keep warm.
- Warm the beef stock: Pour 2 cups of beef stock or broth into a 2-quart or larger saucepan and heat it on the stovetop until it is hot but not boiling.
- Heat the roast beef: Add 3 to 4 slices of the thinly sliced roast beef to the warmed beef stock. Let them heat through for 30 to 60 seconds to become tender and juicy. Use tongs to remove the beef and place it on a plate. Repeat this process until all the roast beef is warmed.
- Assemble the sandwiches: Slice the Kaiser rolls if not pre-sliced. Spread 1 tablespoon of Arby’s sauce evenly on the bottom half of each roll. Add a quarter of the warmed roast beef on top of the sauce. Drizzle 3 to 4 tablespoons of the warm cheddar cheese sauce over the beef. Place the top bun on each sandwich and serve immediately to enjoy a delicious, melty, savory sandwich.
Notes
- Use fresh, quality deli roast beef for best flavor and tenderness.
- Keep the cheese sauce warm by covering the skillet after melting to prevent it from thickening too much.
- Heating the roast beef in beef stock ensures it stays moist and flavorful.
- You can substitute Arby’s sauce with a mix of mayonnaise and horseradish for a homemade alternative.
- Serve immediately after assembling to enjoy the sandwich at its best texture and temperature.
