Enjoy a warm, flavorful snack with these Easy Air Fryer Apples. Tender apple pieces are tossed in cinnamon, coconut oil, and maple syrup, then air fried to a golden, crispy finish. Perfect on their own or served over vanilla ice cream for a delightful dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Apples

  • 2 medium red apples (such as gala, honeycrisp, or pink lady), peeled, cored, and diced into 1-inch pieces

Coating and Glaze

  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup, separated
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat Air Fryer. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with non-stick spray to prevent the apples from sticking during cooking.
  2. Prepare Apple Coating. In a medium bowl, combine the peeled and diced apple pieces with 1 tablespoon of maple syrup, melted coconut oil, and ground cinnamon. Toss well to ensure every piece is evenly coated with the flavorful mixture.
  3. Air Fry Apples. Transfer the coated apple pieces into the preheated air fryer basket. Spread them out as much as possible to promote even cooking and avoid overlapping. Air fry at 380°F for 10 to 14 minutes. Shake the basket halfway through cooking to allow all pieces to crisp evenly. The apples are done when golden, slightly crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside.
  4. Glaze and Serve. Once cooked, transfer the warm apples to a bowl and toss them with the remaining 1 tablespoon of pure maple syrup to glaze and enhance the flavor. Serve warm, optionally over a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious treat.

Notes

  • Choose firm apples like gala, honeycrisp, or pink lady for best texture.
  • Adjust cinnamon amount to taste for a spicier or milder flavor.
  • If you don’t have coconut oil, melted butter or another neutral oil can be substituted.
  • For a vegan option, ensure your ice cream topping is dairy-free or serve without.
  • Shaking the basket halfway through cooking helps achieve an even crispiness.
