- 15 oz Italian sausage (crumbled)

- Heat the oil: In a large, high-sided skillet over medium heat, warm 1 tablespoon of olive oil to prepare for sautéing.
- Sauté mushrooms: Add the sliced crimini mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until they are cooked through but still tender. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Once done, remove the mushrooms from the skillet and set aside.
- Cook sausage: Using the same skillet, add the crumbled Italian sausage and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring until the sausage is fully cooked and browned. Drain off any excess fat from the skillet.
