Ingredients

Scale

Sliders

  • 1 package Savory Butter Hawaiian Rolls (12 count)
  • 12 slices Black Forest ham
  • 6 slices Havarti cheese

Butter Topping

  • 4 tbsp salted butter
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder (optional)
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare rolls and baking dish: Slice the entire block of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally without separating the individual rolls. Remove the top half and set it aside. Lightly grease a 9×12-inch baking pan with butter and place the bottom half of the rolls in it.
  2. Add ham and cheese: Layer each roll with one slice of Black Forest ham, then place half a slice of Havarti cheese on top of each ham slice, covering all rolls evenly.
  3. Prepare and add buttery topping: In a microwavable bowl, melt the salted butter by heating it for about 30 seconds. Stir in the Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and poppy seeds until well combined. Place the top half of the rolls back onto the layered bottom. Brush the butter-poppy seed mixture generously over the top of the rolls.
  4. Bake: Loosely cover the baking pan with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tops of the buns become golden brown.

Notes

  • Worcestershire sauce and onion powder are optional but add extra flavor.
  • Use a sharp knife to slice the entire block of rolls horizontally for even layers.
  • You can substitute Havarti cheese with Swiss or cheddar if preferred.
  • For extra crispiness, broil the sliders for 1-2 minutes after baking but watch closely to prevent burning.
  • These sliders are best served warm for gooey cheese and soft buttery rolls.
  • Leftovers can be wrapped tightly and refrigerated for up to 2 days, reheat in oven for best texture.
