  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce (white or traditional)

Instructions

  1. Heat Butter and Onions: Heat butter in a medium, heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and cook for several minutes, stirring occasionally, until the edges of the onions begin to turn slightly brown.
  2. Cook Mushrooms: Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan, cover with a lid, and cook for two to four minutes. Turn the mushrooms over once or twice during cooking, until they turn golden brown and release some of their juices.
  3. Add Garlic and Seasonings: Remove the lid, add the crushed garlic, and stir. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Continue cooking for one to two minutes longer until the juices start to evaporate and intensify in flavor.
  4. Finish with Worcestershire Sauce: Add Worcestershire sauce, stir well to combine all flavors, then remove the pan from heat. Serve warm alongside steak or your preferred main dish.
